The explicit-estate regression compared the resolved estate path against the literal temporary path. macOS resolves
/varthrough/private/var, so the test failed even though the resolver and observer selected the correct estate.Compare both operation and observer bindings with the canonical path, and deliberately pass a symlink on every platform so Linux exercises the same condition. Policy precedence, invalid-root rejection and process-environment assertions remain intact. The focused regression passes with the race detector.
