Hi Jay, thanks for building Notebar — it's exactly the kind of small, focused tool I wanted for quick notes!
I wanted the app to be fully keyboard-driven (open/close without reaching for the trackpad), and with the help of an AI assistant (Claude, by Anthropic) I was able to implement the changes myself, even though I don't have a programming background. This PR adds:
A global keyboard shortcut (default ⌃⌥⌘N) to toggle Notebar open/closed from anywhere, using the Carbon hotkey API (no special permissions needed)
The shortcut is customizable from Notebar's own menu ("Set Shortcut...")
Esc closes Notebar instantly while it's open
Opening Notebar now correctly focuses the text field, instead of another control
Closing Notebar hands keyboard focus back to whichever app was active before
Feel free to take, adapt, or ignore any part of this — I mostly wanted to share it in case it's useful to you or other Notebar users too.
One note: you may see some unrelated changes in project.pbxproj related to code signing (Team / Bundle Identifier) — those are just my local development settings and aren't meant to be merged.
