Doesn't start

Testing the AUR package under Manjaro. The GUI fails to start.

At the command-line

$ linuxtask

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/linuxtask/main.py", line 1, in
import customtkinter as ctk
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'customtkinter'

yet CustomTkinter is installed on my system

This error occurs because the application cannot find the customtkinter library in your system's Python environment. Even if you have it installed on your system, the system interpreter used by the AUR package might not have it in its path.

How to fix it:

1. System-wide Dependencies: Ensure you have the dependencies installed via pacman:

   sudo pacman -S python-customtkinter python-evdev

2. Recommended (Local Install): Clone the repository and run the install script, which sets up a virtual environment (venv) automatically:

   git clone https://github.com/JADRT22/LinuxTask.git
   cd LinuxTask
   chmod +x install.sh
   ./install.sh

We have updated the code to provide a clearer error message instead of a stack trace when dependencies are missing. Thanks for reporting!
