Running Programs in calculator breaks keyboard

as soon as I run a program I immediately cant use the keyboard, even though once the program is finished/stopped, the keyboard immediately becomes usable again. This makes it so that I have to use the virtual keypad with my mouse, which is slow and time consuming.

if you (unfocus the window, then re-focus it and) click on the screen, does the keyboard work afterwards?
